Total Defense Day 2018
The school commemorated Total Defense Day (TDD) on 15 Feb 18 with this year’s theme of “Together We Keep Singapore Strong”. The students learned how the five pillars of Total Defense have contributed to building a strong, safe and cohesive nation in times of troubled peace. Total Defense has remained relevant due to the current threats face today which require every one of us to be involved and play our part.
A week prior to the commemoration, a line of programmes were lined for the students to help reinforce the importance of total defence through CCE lessons conducted by Mother Tongue teachers and Newscard activities conducted during Social Study period.
Fun but meaningful activities were also carried by parent volunteers during recess. Students tried out face painting and crawled through tunnels like the simulation training in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
The highlight of the commemoration event was assembly programme when a strong message was sent out through an informative but entertaining skit put up by both teachers and students stressing on the importance of being prepared and staying united despite our differences
